ASUS is on the aggressive end nowadays with its mobile phone department. They have just announced the Zenfone Max Pro 4GB variant, in what seems to be a move to catch the mass market for mobile gaming with a ton of freebies, competitive pricing, and attractive phone specifications.

In particular let’s look under the hood:

Marathons, not sprints

Obviously, the real hook with the Zenfone Max Pro is its battery life, as it sports a 5,000 mAh battery. Asus touts of a 35 day-duration of standby time with this capacity. On top of that, it has a 4GB RAM and a 64GB internal storage, which makes it compete with top of the line handsets in the market today. The Zenfone Max Pro also books in a Snapdragon 636 Processor, a high-end CPU which boasts of a X12 LTE Modem which can go through a downlink of up to 600 Mbps.

GPU Considerations

For those who would be considering the Zenfone Max Pro as a gaming device, the phone has an Adreno 509 GPU. Considered a mid-ranged GPU, it’s main selling point is efficiency. Coupled with the Snapdragon 636 processor, it can provide better graphics performance:

The Adreno 509 GPU is a slight upgrade, Qualcomm says it will provide a 10-percent better gaming experience compared to what you’ll find in the Snapdragon 630. It also provides more efficient rendering of 3D graphics.
