This is us, but not exactly. Social distancing rules.

Hello Everyone,

It’s been three years since the (re)start of Critical Index, and we’ve come a long way. From reviews, to events, to news coverage, and to analyses and opinion. Truly, Critical Index has become a pivotal publication in the gaming industry.

In the past year, we’ve seen the best and the worst of the industry: business closures, refocused strategies, layoffs, and more. It is in these trying times we’ve begun re-assesing our priorities and energies to better serve our readers, and in the future, customers.

It is in this we’ve seen a steady decline in readership and in activity from both our core writers and in our contributors. A focus on survival has been tantamount to everyone. We believe that letting everyone refocus their energies to things that makes them happy and better use of their time is essential for their own well-being.

With that in mind, I am announcing the winding down of operations and closure for Critical Index. I would like to thank all our writers for their efforts and their contributions to the publication. Your works are very personal, organic, and insightful.

In the coming weeks, we will begin migrating away from the current platform, Medium. We will be manually copying and pasting content from Critical Index to Sakura Index, a sister site, for posterity. These topics will be republished and res-hared under the same writer’s byline.

For our fan page on Facebook, we will merge the two pages, Critical Index and Sakura Index to unify and refocus our efforts in all our social media channels. This should enable us to take advantage of the existing reach of Sakura Index to deliver and share what matters to us the most: Games, Anime, and More.

Thank you for staying with us, and we wish everyone well on your future endeavors.

Cheers and All the best,

Alex Neri
